- Day 1: Arrive Nagpur - Ramtek - Pench
Arrive at Nagpur - The subcapital of Maharashtra. It is also known as the Tiger Capital of India. Proceed to Pench Tiger Reserve - Situated along the Pench River, it is one of the largest game preserves of Madhya Pradesh. Nearby, Ghuhhugarh, is an old fort of the Vakataka period. Enroute visit Ramtek Temple - a temple of Lord Rama, his wife Sita and brother Lakshamana on a hill. Legend has it that the place gets its name because Lord Rama, during his vanvas (exile from Ayodhya), halted here. On arrival at Pench, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Pench. - Day 2: Pench Safari - Bhedaghat Sightseeing - Jabalpur
Early morning enjoy Jungle Safari at Pench (Subject to availability). Later proceed to Jabalpur - a city that offers tourists many natural wonders, mythological lore and historical heritage. The most popular attraction is the marble rocks. It is a deep gorge lined by gigantic mountains of marble carved by the Narmada river that flows through. Proceed to visit The Marble Rocks, at Bhedaghat in the Jabalpur district, is one of the most spectacular natural sites in the country. Located around 25 km from the city of Jabalpur on the banks of Narmada river, these rocks rise up as high as 100 feet. Also visit Dhuandhar Falls - The beautiful falls cascade down for 30 meters. Early morning leave for the town of Orchha which is considered to be Madhya Pradesh’s big draw, graced with medieval style architecture dating from the start of 16th century. Established as the capital of Bundelkhand by Rudra Pratap Singh, a Bundela chief in 1501 A.D., Orchha carries the imprints of all former rulers, who ruled the city at different points in history. On arrival visit Orchha Fort - a medieval fort situated on the seasonal island of Betwa River in Orchha. Chaturbhuj Temple - the original temple where the idol of Lord Rama was supposed to be established. The history of the Chaturbhuj temple is associated with an interesting fable. It is said that Maharani Ganesh Kunwari, wife of Raja Madhukar, the ruler of Orchha wanted to relocate the idol of Rama that was placed in Rani Niwas, her private apartments. Gwalior
Leave for Jhansi, a historic city situated between the rivers Pahunj and Betwa, owes its significance and popularity to its link with the heroics of Rani Laxmi Bai, the courageous queen who fought valiantly against the British in the Revolt of 1857. Visit Jhansi Fort, then proceed for Datia - the district headquarters in North-central Madhya Pradesh. It is an ancient town, mentioned in the Mahabharata as Dantavakra. Arrive at Indore - Situated in the heart of the Malwa Plateau, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, the city of Indore is home to grand monuments, ancient temples and architectural delights that are a legacy of the mighty Holkar dynasty kings, who were the erstwhile rulers of the region. On arrival check in at the hotel. After lunch proceed to visit Rajwada - the first building in India that was restored using the same materials and in the same style that it was originally constructed in. Dating back to the 1747 AD, Rajwada served as the residence of the Holkar dynasty. Lal Bagh Palace - one of the grandest monuments built by the Holkar dynasty, the Lal Bagh Palace is an opulent multi-storey structure, situated on the outskirts of Indore. On arrival visit many remarkable places like Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, Hoshang Shah's Tomb, Rani Roopmati Pavilion. Later proceed to Maheshwar -lies on the banks of River Narmada. It is believed to have been existing since the beginning of Indian civilisation and even finds mention in the epics of Mahabharata and Ramayana. Back then, it was known as Mahishmati, the capital city of King Kartivarjun. Visit Holkar Fort - As the name precisely suggests, this was the opulent palace of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar which the reason why it is also known as the Queen's fort. Rajwada - Legend has it that this splendid architectural wonder was constructed under the rule of one of India's most powerful female leaders, Rani Ahilyabai Holkar.
